Advanced Technology Systems (ATS) was founded in 2003 by a group of Americans who saw a unique opportunity to support the United States and honor their heritage by assisting in the safe keeping, rebuilding and rehabilitation of Iraq and other middle-eastern countries like Afghanistan.  Capitalizing on their backgrounds in engineering and telecommunications, the team started a company focused on connecting individuals, organizations and businesses in and around Iraq then expanded to other countries like Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait …etc.

Today, Advanced Technology Systems extend its services to Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Lebanon, Kuwait, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkey, Greece, Cyprus …etc.  

ATS chose to partner with Hughes Network Systems to provide high-speed Internet services and network communications solutions using their satellite technology and state-of-the-art network. To support their commitment to their customers, ATS established facilities in Baghdad and Erbil, Iraq as well as Amman, Jordan in addition to partners in all other countries of coverage. These sites allow ATS to respond quickly in providing technical support and on-site network consulting services.

Today, ATS operates hundreds of internet sites throughout Iraq, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia and in all the other countries it covers with its services, helping expatriates, troops, companies, organizations and individuals to communicate with their loved ones and conduct their business. Advanced Technology Systems is proud to be part of the solution in creating a better Middle East.

Executive Profiles

Alexander Kachachi – Chief Executive Officer

Alexander founded Advanced Technology Systems after leading an exemplary career as a Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch, Legg Mason Wood Walker, Inc and most recently a Vice President with UBS PaineWebber. Being very successful in networking he managed to build a portfolio of over 600 US & International private and institutional clients managing over $50 million in assets under management.

Alexander built his practice emphasizing two primary areas, direct targeted marketing and superior service both of which are applied as the cornerstones of ATS in Iraq.

Prior to his successful career as a financial advisor, Alexander spent 8 years as a Professor of Engineering at the United Arab Emirates University.

He has authored several publications in Arabic on the principles of investing in the United States securities markets. He is a founding member of the Iraqi American Chamber of Commerce.

Kachachi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Baghdad and a Master’s degree in Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Manchester, UK.

Dr. Bessam Z. Hassan – Vice President

An Electronic and Communications Engineer, born in Baghdad, Iraq 1974 and educated at Al- Nahrain University. He received his B.Sc., in Electronic and Communications Engineering in 1996 (first place at the university with honors degree). He was awarded the Undergraduate’s first prize for inter-college superior student competition for the academic year 1994-1995 and the Graduate’s first prize for inter-college graduate student competition for the academic year 1995-1996. He received his Masters in 1998 majoring in communications and his PhD in 2002 majoring in Communication Electronics.

Since 1996 he started lecturing at Al-Mansour University College, Baghdad International School and Al-Nahrain University. In 2002 he worked as a government consultant in the research department working on several fields like Ultra high-power inverters, DVB-T development and know-how program, Error correction, Coding and code braking, and Stereoscopy and Image processing.

In 2003 he joined ATS as a system consultant and then the vice president, working in the field of VSAT Internet Installation, VOIP, Vehicle tracking and Broadband Wireless Networks.
